ENROLMENT ENQUIRIES

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

All enrolment enquiries will need to contact the front office for an enrolment application.

If you have a child enrolling in Year 10 for 2023, please read the information below regarding the Transition to Year 10.

TRANSITION TO YEAR 10

Transitioning from Year 9 into 10 is an exciting and daunting time for you and your child. At Homestead, we aim to make this transition as easy as possible. The way we do this is to ensure we start the process with your child’s feeder school as early as possible.

Enrolling at Homestead Senior Secondary College is based on the following:

  • Residential address;
  • Satisfactory completion of previous year;
  • Capacity of the college to meet the learner's needs.

Our main feeder schools are Alamanda P-9 College, Carranballac P-9 College and Saltwater P-9 College (when they reach Year 9). Homestead works closely with each of these schools to prepare your child for Senior School.

In June you will be given access to a link to indicate your school preference (DNA school or private setting). We will use this information to ensure you are eligible to enrol at Homestead. From July, enrolment packs will be available either from our office, emailed to you or mailed out to your address. Our administration staff will be in contact with you in term 3 to confirm how enrolment forms will be distributed.

The enrolment packs, along with all of the required documentation can either be returned directly to the main office at Homestead Senior Secondary College by the end of August or at your Course Counselling appointment, which will occur at your child's current school. Parents are encouraged to be involved in this exciting process.

Once your enrolment is confirmed there will be an opportunity for a school tour.

In December, we will hold a Transition Program for all prospective Year 10 students. Students will experience their subjects and be given their holiday homework in preparation for the following year. This is a great opportunity for your child to experience and prepare for their first year as Senior School students.
